SHARE TO:

The Aluminum Association (AA) system is widely used in North America and is similar to the IAI system, with slight differences in the designation methods. The AA system also uses four-digit numbers to identify aluminum alloys, but there are differences in specific applications of some compositions, for example:

- **1100**: Represents high-purity aluminum, used in applications requiring excellent conductivity and formability.

- **2024**: Widely used in aerospace structures due to its excellent strength-to-weight ratio.

- **3003**: Used in beverage cans and cookware due to its good corrosion resistance and formability.

- **6061**: Commonly used in construction profiles and transportation components because of its ease of machining and good corrosion resistance.

- **7075**: Widely used in aerospace applications due to its outstanding strength.
