Thermal Expansion Considerations

The thermal expansion and contraction characteristics of aluminum are particularly important in outdoor applications. Aluminum profiles used outdoors, such as window frames or façade systems, must allow for thermal expansion to prevent deformation or loosening due to temperature changes. Indoors, where temperatures are relatively stable, this is less of a problem, so aluminum profiles are more flexible for indoor installations, such as partitions, railings, or furniture components.
